Scope
This policy explains how Nookmetry collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit nookmetry.com, use the Fit Finder, follow a Nookmetry link from Pinterest or another source, or contact us.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate and understand the site. Depending on how you use Nookmetry, this may include:
- Fit Finder inputs: cabinet width, height, depth, budget, drilling preference, and answers about plumbing obstructions or a garbage disposal.
- Usage information: pages viewed and interactions such as starting or submitting the Fit Finder, viewing a product, or following a merchant link.
- Referral information: standard UTM campaign parameters, including source, medium, campaign, and content identifiers. These help us understand which Nookmetry Pins or other links brought a visit to the site.
- Session information: a randomly generated identifier stored for the browser session so related actions can be understood together.
- Information you provide: details you choose to include when contacting us.
Nookmetry does not ask for Pinterest passwords or login credentials. The public Fit Finder does not require an account.
How we use information
We use this information to provide deterministic product-fit results, explain why products match submitted measurements, operate and secure the site, diagnose errors, improve pages and tools, measure editorial and Pinterest campaign performance, and understand aggregate actions such as Fit Finder starts and merchant clicks.
Fit Finder measurements are treated as product-search inputs. Nookmetry does not use artificial intelligence to decide whether a product fits.
Nookmetry uses tracked links on its own Pins to measure visits and on-site actions attributable to a specific campaign or Pin. When publishing tools are enabled, Nookmetry may also use the Pinterest API to manage content for Nookmetry's own Pinterest account and retrieve permitted campaign or Pin performance information.
We do not use Pinterest information to build profiles of visitors, sell personal information, or target people with advertising outside Pinterest. Your use of Pinterest is also governed by Pinterest's own privacy policy and settings.
Browser storage and cookies
Nookmetry currently uses session storage to keep an anonymous session identifier and referral attribution during your browsing session. Session storage is normally cleared when the browser session ends. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies on Nookmetry.
Merchant sites you choose to visit may use their own cookies or similar technologies. Their privacy practices are governed by their policies, not this one.
When information is shared
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that host or support Nookmetry, such as our website host and database provider, only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
Following a merchant link sends you to that merchant. Nookmetry does not send your Fit Finder measurements to the merchant through those links.
Retention and security
We retain Fit Finder queries, analytics events, referral attribution, and related operational records only for as long as reasonably needed to operate, evaluate, secure, and improve Nookmetry, or to meet legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can clear Nookmetry's browser-session data by closing the browser session or clearing site data in your browser. You may also use the site without submitting optional contact information.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because most Nookmetry analytics use a random session identifier rather than an account, we may need information from you to determine whether a record can reasonably be linked to your request.
Children's privacy
Nookmetry is a general-audience home organization service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Nookmetry's services or privacy practices change. The date at the top of the page shows when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page before they take effect where required.
